Description
The Tecsun PL680 Radio with VHF Air Band is a great radio for communications enthusiasts with the radio providing excellent reception to all of the major frequency bands including AM/MW, FM, Shortwave with SSB, Longwave, and VHF Air Band.
The Tecsun PL680 Radio with VHF Air Band, phase lock looped (PLL) synthesised RF circuit design, direct frequency entry, and a large LCD display make the Tecsun PL680 Radio one of the most sensitive, versatile and full-featured portable radios available on the Australian market.
The Tecsun PL680 Radio with VHF Air Band includes the new feature of synchronous detection which means that during periods of propagation fading, the Tecsun PL680 receiver stays locked to the incoming signal. Independently selectable upper side band (USB) and lower side band (LSB) makes monitoring of HF utility stations such as HF aircraft, marine, Amateur radio, 4WD clubs, and outback communications simple and intuitive.
The Tecsun PL680 Radio with VHF Air Band has a socket for an external antenna connection with antenna input attenuator to prevent overload, selectable IF bandwidth, and tone control, and is supplied with rechargeable NiMh batteries, an approved Australian pinned charger, earphones, a protective carry case, a 10m long wire antenna and a comprehensive user manual.
This radio is designed to be operated from batteries, not directly from the charger supplied. Even though the charger voltage is regulated, the internal switching circuitry generates RF noise which can interfere with reception, especially on AM and Shortwave bands.

Just wanted to say how pleased I am with the performance of the pl660. It is a delight to use and represents excellent value for money. Congratulations on carrying such a quality product.

I bought a Tecsun PL-660 yesterday and am astounded by the performance. I have always been a scanner buff with Icoms, AORs and Yupiterus and the only units that come close to the performance on all the bands (bar AIR, lets face it the scanners are more sensitive and functional but at least I can just get the ATIS in Hornsby on 126.250 which my AOR AR8200 even had trouble with).
