Tecsun Li-ion Spare Battery

Description

The Tecsun Li-ion Battery provides 3.7V at 2600mAh and is specifically designed for the internal charging circuitry of the Tecsun PL880, PL-990x, H-501x and the Tecsun S-8000,  receiver. The Tecsun Li-ion Battery  can provide up to 50 hours of operation on a full charge (dependant on backlight use and audio level). This battery includes PCBA overchanging protection.

Keep a spare battery around for those long trips or extended trips away from charging facilities!

It is advisable to use only Tecsun’s Li-ion battery with the Tecsun PL880, PL-990 , S-8800, H-501x and S-2200x due to its customised charging circuitry. Not all batteries marketed by other vendors for this purpose have the same physical dimensions and some do not make adequate electrical connection with the receiver charging contacts. Alternate higher capacity cells used in torches may pose a fire hazard if used in this receiver.

Please note that in Australia, Li-ion batteries can only be transported by Australia Post by ROAD##. Please allow extra transit time when ordering spare batteries. Tecsun batteries are shipped with an extra layer of plastic insulation to ensure shipping safety. Be sure to cut the plastic film away from the battery before using, otherwise contact will not be made with the electrodes at each end of the battery.

Storage on 18650 batteries: For longest life, store batteries with approximately 50% charge. Do not store fully discharged batteries as they may not recover.

##Some general information about Lithium-ion batteries:

Lithium-ion batteries use an internal chemical reaction to generate power. As the battery ages the chemical efficiency decreases which can ultimately result in the creation of gas (called outgassing), leading to a swollen battery. This process can compromise the isolation  between the internal layers of the battery causing a short circuit and even fire.  If you see a lithuim ion battery starting to bulge, immediately remove it from the charging circuit, allow it to cool down, and them dispose of it through a battery recycling facility.
