The Tecsun PL365 radio is the latest model in our truly handheld range of multiband radios. The unique shape and size of the Tecsun PL365 design was based around the requirements of our military and law enforcement customers so that the radio could easily fit onto a belt clip or backpack pocket. This has to be the smallest HF receiver with SSB capability in the world!
The Tecsun PL365’s RF design has been upgraded and now utilises the SiLabs Si 4735 chipset (the earlier model PL360 utilised the Si 4734 chipset). The new chipset adds Single Side Band (SSB) to the Tecsun PL365 as well as increasing the coverage of the SW band up to 30 MHz. The Tecsun PL365 further improves audio clarity of received signals by utilising Digital Signal Processing technology to process the received audio and cancel out any background and RF noise.
Improvements have been made to extend the battery life of the Tecsun PL365 out to a maximum of 225 hours on a set of three Alkaline AA cells. Additionally, the Tecsun PL365 also includes internal charging capabilities to recharge AA cells (not supplied) via the radio’s USB connection port.
Features carried over from the previous model (Tecsun PL360) include the use of an external ferrite rod antenna for AM reception. The use of an external ferrite rod antenna with the Tecsun PL365 is to overcome the form factor limitation of the handheld style and provide impressive AM (MW) performance for its class. Further improvements of AM reception can be achieved by utilising the radio with our Tecsun AN-100 AM Loop Antenna. The Tecsun PL365 is one of few radios in the Tecsun range to provide an external antenna connection for the AM/MW band. Hence our Q3070 Outdoor MW/SW antenna is perfectly suited to this model.
The Tecsun PL365 Radio is an ideal radio to use for AM/MW EMI surveys because of its external AM antenna, ability to accept customised antennas and its display showing signal strength in dBuV.
The Tecsun PL365 provides extended FM coverage down to 76 MHz, allowing the radio to receive broadcasts not intended for the general public. The Tecsun PL365 supports our patented Easy Tune Method (ETM) which is a one-touch automatic scan and memorise feature that scans the selected band and stores received signals in a temporary memory allowing for quick selection between stored signals.

I originally purchased this radio to use in the case of bad weather. When i bought it i also purchased the outdoor antenna. All i can say is , I’m floored with this little radios ability to pull in extremely distant stations that i wouldn’t have originally thought it coud pick up. I use it every single day, Monday to Friday it sits on my desk at work and i listen to am talkback as i work, then come the weekend it goues into the pelican case i bought and we go bush. Adding the external antenna gives this little radio the ability to punch well above its weight. I highly recommend any backpackers or regular travellers to buy this awesome little radio along with the external antenna and rechargeable batteries. Tecsun also sell a solar panel which you can use to recharge the radio while your using it which will allow you to stay off grig longer. Buy and enjoy, i did.

This small PL-365’s capability is simply amazing. This must be one of the smallest receiver with SSB – both USB and LSB reception capability, not only for Shortwave, but also on AM/MW band. That means this is a great small Radio for ham radio operators and radio enthusiasts! Fine tuning can be possible with 10Hz steps, this is also incredible when we consider the size and price. AM/MW DXing is also a fun with the rotatable antenna, and if you own some antennas outside, simply plug in to 3.5mm mini plug and it works great for both AM/MW and Shortwave bands.

This little radio works really well and has great battery life, too. The size is very convenient, backlight display is good. Performance wise I am happy with it.
It won’t fit in it’s optional case with the broadcast antenna plugged in.
My biggest bugbear is the the colour contrast on the keys is abysmal, very hard to read even with glasses. So, I have to use a magnifying glass in less than bright light.
